CAP was founded by an Office Automation executive who was also the president of a non-profit for over ten years. His unique perspective, because of this combination of experience in these two worlds, gave birth to the idea of CAP.

When I was the president of the Cooley’s Anemia Foundation our staff was indoctrinated in “The Aunt Millie Rule”. The rule was simple . I asked them to picture my Aunt Millie at 75 years old, reaching in to her pocketbook to get her change purse. You know, the little round leather one that clips at the top. I wanted them to visualize her beautiful old hands reaching in to that purse for a single dollar to buy a raffle ticket from me. “What did Aunt Millie think I would do with that dollar?” I’d ask them. “Buy more expensive file folders at Staples? No. She thought I would use it to help cure Alicia, her great niece.
